WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED
You will need a Mac computer with Xcode 12 installed. This app as you probably know works on iOS 14+. Also, it’s very important that you have an Apple Developer account because widgets require App Groups in order to share data between the widget and the app, and App Groups can be properly created only if you have a developer account.
The app’s UI is built using SwiftUI.
HOW DOES IT WORK
– The app will launch and the user will be asked to enter the Instagram username that they want to track. There is no need to sign in. None of this data is being shared to tracked. The username is simply passed to the Instagram API and stored locally in the app. Only public accounts are supported.
– Recent Stats widget supports small and medium sizes. It will show total followers and gained/lost followers. The way gained/lost followers works, is by tracking the current followers count, then whenever the widget/app fetches the new data, it will check to see the difference between old and new followers count. The medium size widget will also show the total number of posts for a given account as well as total likes for the last 3 posts.
– The recent post widget supports only a small size. It will show the last post image (or video thumbnail) as well as the likes for this last post.
